Surfing waves, pictured on the right, is one of many river running skills you will be working. The basic principles of river running include the ability to find and get into and out of eddy's, recognizing waves that you can surf and then actually surfing the waves. Doing standard ferries, reverse ferries and jet ferries all help you maneuver your kayak on the river. Put all this together with some common sense safety practices and you will be ready to explore the many rivers in our area that are suited to your ability at this time. |
